Diana Matos’ first album as a solo artist is a medical prescription for a good mood, an entry into a universe of hedonism that doesn't ignore reality, but rather seeks to transform everything by denouncing it.
Matos moves between her classics and new rhythms. The powerful voice that characterized Perra Vida, her previous band, continues loud and present, perhaps accepting some pop influences, but with the marked rebellious vitality of someone who grew up in the punk scene.
“Emergency Prescription” takes from her life as an emergency medicine specialist among those running a Covid designated hospital during the global pandemic, and mixes new and extreme experiences with the main message that have always characterized her work: do not let a polluted world take you away from your path.
The album was produced by Ignacio Briceño, on recording and mixing. Tobias Hietala was responsible for the mastering in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Darkness exists, but Dr DiDi is a celebration of light. Absolute rock n´roll, pop, and medicinal electroshock.

Dr. DiDi Lima, Peru

Diana Matos, an emergency physician from Arequipa, Peru, with a loud and fabulous voice. She became known as frontwoman of the bands Alias la Gringa and Perra Vida. Her bands have appeared on VICE, Maximum Rock n´Roll and Vans Mexico, as well as in Peruvian media. She has been recognized by Bandcamp as “Best Punk of July 2018” and then as “The Best of Bandcamp in October 2019”. ... more
